Kaplan College Vista partners with over 160 local employers to train students during their required externships. Qualified graduates fill area workforce needs and have been placed at local companies including CVS, Scripps, Massage Envy, and NHA Pharma. In the past five years, over 4,200 students have graduated from Kaplan College Vista with newly acquired job focused skills. Our labs use real world equipment and anatomical models to support hands-on-learning. We believe in giving students a practical working experience to support their academic studies. To better prepare graduates for their future career, our education programs include the opportunity to use the materials and equipment utilized in the day to day workplace for their chosen career. Students have the opportunity to practice what they learn before beginning a new career. Kaplan College Vista offers the following programs: Diploma – Medical Assistant Dental Assistant Healthcare Assistant Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Pharmacy Technician Massage Therapy Holistic Health Practitioner X-Ray Technician Back Office Medical Assistant Vocational Nursing Nursing Assistant Associate Degree – Criminal Justice Certificate – Phlebotomy IV Therapy and Blood Withdraw Kaplan College, formerly Maric College was founded in San Diego in 1976 in response to the needs of those aspiring toward medical careers and to meet the employment demands in allied health occupations. In 1984 the institution expanded to San Marcos and Vista then the two North County locations merged and relocated to the current location in 1997. Maric College was purchased by Kaplan Inc. in 2000 and in 2008 changed its name to Kaplan College. Kaplan College is an intuition of higher education dedicated to providing quality programs that integrate curriculum with professional skill development, empowering students to achieve their lifelong personal and professional goals. · Provide intensive and comprehensive instruction that strengthens student academic achievement; · Instill in its students the value of lifelong learning by stimulating intellectual curiosity, creative and critical thinking, and awareness of diversity; · Plan and provide facilities and resources that respond to the needs of students, faculty, and staff; · Provide the community with individuals who can meet the ever-changing needs of business, government, and industry now and in the future. Kaplan College believes in supporting its students’ ability for success. In addition to academic support, we offer services such as individual advisement, tutoring, career services and assistance in locating needed social services. Kaplan College helps their students during the holidays with Thanksgiving food baskets and presents for their children. Kaplan College is very involved in the local community. Annually, the campus holds a medical camp at the campus where they partner with local physicians and offer a free community clinic to patients at no cost. Their next medical camp will be on May 30, 2015. Students and staff participate in a company-wide bi-annual Serve-a-thon day; with recent community services activities of cleaning our local Boys and Girls Clubs and YMCA. They have also volunteered at local food banks. Additionally, Kaplan College participates in many local walks and charities; further supporting its focus on the community. We will have our annual Happy New You Event on Saturday, January 10th, 2015. This is an event that allows people who are interested in pursuing their education with Kaplan and opportunity to tour the campus and watch live demonstrations. There will be two sessions; one starting at 10 a.m. and one and 11:30 a.m.
