Vista Community Clinic Celebrates Renovation and Dedication of VCC: Pier View OCEANSIDE, CA—Vista Community Clinic (VCC) will host a celebration to mark the renovation of VCC: Pier View and the dedication of the site as the Karen Talamantez Memorial Clinic at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 16. VCC: Pier View, one of five VCC clinic sites, is located at 818 Pier View Way in Oceanside. The event marks the recent completion of an extensive renovation project at the site. The result is an attractive facility with the capability of welcoming many more new patients. The renovation has added four new offices, three new exam rooms, and a more spacious patient waiting area. Patients and visitors to VCC: Pier View will find beautiful, original watercolors by award winning artist and North County resident Chuck Rouse. The paintings, depicting the environs of Oceanside, are hung in the patient waiting area, hallways, examination rooms and offices. With the completion of remodeling, VCC: Pier View now offers expanded hours for primary care and prenatal services, and Saturday appointments. New clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. “VCC: Pier View has nurtured the health and well being of community residents for more than two decades,” said Fernando Sañudo, Chief Executive Officer of VCC. “With the renovation, we have the capability to accommodate 5,000 additional patient visits each year. The renovation is a major step forward in helping more community residents access our high quality services.” Established in 1999, VCC: Pier View is located in the heart of Oceanside. Annually, the clinic serves almost 8,000, mostly low-income patients in Oceanside and neighboring North County communities with affordable and high quality primary care, pediatric services, prenatal care, pharmacy and behavioral health services. The Oct. 16 celebration will also mark the dedication of VCC: Pier View as the Karen Talamantez Memorial Clinic. Talamantez, a beloved family nurse practitioner who joined VCC in 2000, lost her battle to cancer in July 2014. She touched the lives of thousands of patients with her compassion and commitment to providing the best care. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who considered her VCC: Pier View colleagues as her extended family. “Dedicating VCC: Pier View as the Karen Talamantez Memorial Clinic is our way of recognizing Karen’s extraordinary service and commitment to the health and well being of our patients,” said CEO Fernando Sañudo. “She was passionate about patient care. She touched the lives of her Pier View colleagues with her everyday acts of kindness. She was a role model and inspired everyone around her to be their best.” The VCC: Pier View celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at 818 Pier View Way, Oceanside.
