PARKS AND RECREATION PARTNERS WITH NORTH COUNTY MODEL RAILROAD SOCIETY TO OPEN NEW MODEL TRAIN MUSEUM LOCATION The North County Model Railroad Society (NCMRS) has partnered with the City of Oceanside’s Parks and Recreation Division to offer model train enthusiasts a place to view and operate NCMRS’ unique model train exhibit. The new home for the NCMRS will be located at Oceanside’s Heritage Park Museum, 220 Peyri Road. During construction, there will be a “Trains for Kids” model set-up that will allow children to view and operate the trains. This temporary exhibit will be open to the public on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. beginning on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Join the Parks and Recreation Division and the North County Model Railroad Society for a Ribbon Cutting, welcoming the trains to the park. Ribbon Cutting will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Expanded hours for viewing and operating model trains will be announced once the NCMRS has completed building the 900 square-foot model railroad system at Heritage Park.
